CRI听力:US Policy to Iran Not Changed: White House
The White House is moving to clarify the Obama administration's policy toward Iran.
This comes following word Obama has sent off correspondence to Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
White House spokesperson Josh Earnest says the U.S. policy towards Iran has not changed.
"I'm not in a position to discuss private correspondence between the president and any world leader. I can tell you that the policy that the president and his administration have articulated about Iran remains unchanged."
The Wall Street Journal is reporting the letter to the Iranian leader outlines their shared intereste in the fight against the Islamic State.
The US and Tehran have not had diplomatic ties since the late 1970's.
