CRI听力:China Economic Data Points to Cooling Economy
Latest data shows that most provinces in China have experienced a slowdown in GDP growth through the first three quarters of this year.
Among them, both Shanxi and Inner Mongolia have registered lower-than-expected growth.
Growth in the northeast province of Heilongjiang has been the slowest among the provinces, coming in at around 5 percent.
Pan Jiancheng is the deputy director of the China Economic Monitoring Center.
"Because of decreasing demand for energy and severe overcapacity of energy-intensive industries, economic growth in related provinces has slowed down. To some extent, however, it shows our structural adjustment has taken effect."
The same analysis is suggesting provinces in China's central and western regions have been faring much better.
Chongqing municipality ranks first in China with growth of 10.8 percent through the first three-quarters.
While Shaanxi, Xinjiang, Jiangxi, Hubei and Anhui all have registered a growth above 9 percent.
