CRI听力:Kenya's Deputy President Condemns Bus Killing
Kenya's Ministry of Defense is reporting more than a hundred al-Shabab militants have been killed in operations in the wake of a deadly bus attack.
Sweeps by the Kenyan military in Somalia have reportedly destroyed a camp where the bus attack was planned.
But al-Shabab is refuting the reports, saying its fighters are safe.
The group attacked the bus in retaliation for the closure of four mosques in Kenya last week, leaving 28 people dead.
Passengers who could not recite an Islamic creed were singled out and killed.
Noah Muvanda is a local Police Commander.
"So after getting stuck these militia people ordered everyone on board to disembark, and then after disembarking that is when they asked non-Muslims to identify themselves and then that is how they executed the whole 28 people that were on board."
The bus was hijacked in the northeast of Kenya.
Bodies of victims have been airlifted to Nairobi where they are being identified by their relatives.
