2014-11-26来源:CRI

The newly-agreed upon Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank is topping the agenda at the latest Boao Forum for Asia conference taking place in Dubai.

Jin Liqun heads the Working Group for the Establishment of the AIIB.

"AIIB is dedicated to help Asia grow, to grow with quality, to grow with equity, and to grow with harmony, harmony with your fellow citizens and our neighboring countries. China will be the biggest shareholder in this institution based on its GDP. China would assume its leadership. Leadership is responsibility, obligation, not privilege."

China is set to be its largest shareholder in the investment bank, with a 50 billion US dollar contribution.

This is half of the initial investment in the AIIB.

Alwyn Didar SINGH with India's Chamber of Commerce says the new infrastructure bank is welcome news for his country.

"You also have an Asian Development Bank and many others, but the money is not enough. India wants this development to finance available, because India itself has very very major requirement for infrastructure. And India believes for the region in South Asia, we will not be able to progress economically unless we have collectivity."

The AIIB has already attracted the interest of 21 different countries.

The two-day Boao Forum in Dubai is playing host to some 350 delegates.
