CRI听力:Thai Finance Minister Believes Elections Will be Postponed until 2016

2014-11-28来源:CRI

Thailand's finance minister is suggesting new elections in the country are likely to be postponed until 2016.

Sommai Phasee says there is too much work facing the interim administration.

"I think because there are a lot of things to be done by the national legislative assembly, by the National Reform Council, by the Constitution Drafting Committee and by the cabinet. They have a lot of things to do. "

Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha had cited groups opposed to the National Council for Peace and Order as one of the other reasons for the delay.

Prayuth, a Thai military General, took power through a military coup in May.

The Thai government says the current state of martial law, which the army imposed days before it took power, will not be lifted for the foreseeable future.
