CRI听力:'Walking Forest' Festival in Peru to Highlight Threats of Climate Change
Peruvians have been marching through the streets of Lima to raise awareness of climate change.
"The idea is simple. It's that for a moment we're all committed with the plants, with green areas, and we let the plants borrow our legs, our arms, and we go out with them to march through the city to claim a space; a space that all the green areas need."
The march this weekend has coincided with the massive UN-sponsored climate change conference which is taking place in Lima.
Those taking part have carried house plants and large pots on their backs to symbolize Peru's call at the conference for better protection of the world's forests.
Representatives from 190 nations are in the Peruvian capital to work towards reaching a framework agreement that would limit greenhouse gas emissions.
The final deal is expected to be signed in Paris in a year's time.
