CRI听力:Security Increased Ahead of Modi's Visit: India
Thousands of government troops have fanned out across Indian-controlled Kashmir to provide security for visiting Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Modi is scheduled to make a campaign speech in Kashmir today ahead of local elections in the restive region.
Subarata Saha is in command of the troops in Kashmir.
"The security grid is in place with all the agencies orderly deployed in Kashmir and those that come from outside and beyond this you would agree that it would be improper on my part to reveal anything beyond that."
Sharpshooters have been posted on rooftops in the regional capital Srinagar where Modi is scheduled to speak at an election rally.
Tensions in Kashmir are running high following a gun battle on Friday, which saw militants attack an Indian army camp, leaving 5 Indian troops and 2 militants dead.
