CRI听力:5 Ebola Fighters Named as Time Person of the Year for 2014
Five health care workers, all part of the fight against Ebola in West Africa, will share Time Magazine's 2014 Person of the Year award.
The five include 46-year-old Doctor Jerry Brown, a medical director and general surgeon at the Eternal Love Winning Africa Hospital in Monrovia, Liberia.
Brown says working with Ebola victims is challenging but, ultimately, rewarding.
"For every person I see coming out of the unit and smiling, I have the courage to go back."
The other recipients of the award include a health promoter and a caregiver from the Doctors Without Borders clinic in Monrovia, and a physician with Samaritan's Purse, a Christian humanitarian organization.
The Ebola outbreak has killed more than 6 thousand people out of nearly 18 thousand cases, almost all in Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea.
