CRI听力:American Illegally Entering DPRK Denounces US Policies
An American who has illegally entered the Democratic People's Republic of Korea has made a denunciation of U.S. domestic and foreign policies.
29-year-old Arturo Pierre Martinez made the comments at a news conference in Pyongyang.
During the conference, he explained he chose to come to North Korea to talk about U.S. policy because it has successfully defied U.S. influence and pluralistic power, adding that he wants to seek political asylum in Venezuela.
He admonished the U.S. government for launching the war against Iraq.
"The illegal war carried out against the nation of Iraq serves as a perfect example of how the U.S. government acts much like a mafia enterprise, but criminally plunders the entire nation of the resources, strategic reserves and economies, instead of smaller scale businesses and individuals."
He also criticized U.S. politicians and police as well as the electoral and prison systems.
It is reported that he entered the DPRK two days after the U.S. Director of National Intelligence, James Clapper, visited the country.
Currently, the legal status of Martinez is not clear and whether he can leave the country is still unknown.
