The Venezuelan leader says his country will support Russia during this extraordinary time
"We'd like to reiterate our solidarity with the Russian people. We believe that you can work and that you will be able to cope with current situation. Venezuela is always with Russia!"
And Putin has called Venezuela a "very close partner."
Putin and Maduro have spoken in favor of intensifying joint projects in various areas, including energy.
