CRI听力:UK Scientists Speed up Second Ebola Vaccine
British scientists at the University of Oxford have been human-testing UK's second Ebola vaccine.
The first trial of a vaccine against Ebola at the university was carried out back in September.
Doctor Neil Walker is one of 87 volunteers taking part in the second trial, which is partly funded by the European Union.
"There's a very small element of risk involved, but as I say, I trust, I put my trust in science. It would be nice to know at the end of the study that, you know, I have contributed in a very small way to getting this vaccine out in the real world."
According to the World Health Organization, there are four leading Ebola vaccines currently being developed around the world.
Apart from the UK, scientists in the US, Russia and China are striving to find a cure for the deadly virus.
If the human trials prove successful, the UK's second vaccine will be sent to Africa for testing.
