CRI听力:Qatar's World Cup Organizing Committee Assures They Are Ready for Winter Cup
Qatar's 2022 World Cup organizing committee chief has assured Qatar will be ready to deliver a World Cup no matter when it is played.
FIFA are set to vote later this month on a recommendation for a World Cup staged in the coolers months of November and December to avoid the summer heat.
Organizing committee chief Hassan Al Thawadi says they're ready whatever the decision is:
"we are ready for whatever the football community decides. When the decision is made we will comply with it. While I understand the concerns and issues people may have in the end it is a decision the football community has to make,"
The November –December option targets the coolest months and avoids a clash with Ramadan and the Winter Olympics.
Al Thawadi says there's still much work to be done over the next seven years with construction of 70 hotels and other infrastructure projects.
FIFA will vote on March 19 on whether to move the World Cup to winter
