CRI听力:"Internet Plus" Program Hailed at GMIC

2015-04-30来源:CRI

Yu Yongfu, president of Alibaba's online marketing unit, believes that the "Internet Plus" program will cause a domino effect across the country.

The program will not only make full use of social resources such as data and information, but also create new demand through innovations and stimulate more entrepreneurs to start their own businesses.

Yu Yongfu takes Autonavi, Alibaba's digital mapping unit, as an example to illustrate the impact of online services on people's daily lives.

"At first, we only provided consumers with the latest traffic information. And then we told users how to avoid traffic jams. We are now making our way to the third phase, which is predictions about traffic. We launched a public platform based on our massive amount of Autonavi data in April. Through this platform we link all the traffic management authorities, local governments and traffic channels together. "

Yu Yongfu adds that they are willing to open their facility and data to wider society so as to solve traffic problems.

In addition to changes brought about by the Internet, enterprises in this field are also undergoing transformation.

Yao Jinbo is the CEO of Chinese lifestyle service platform 58.com, which has merged with its competitor Ganji.com.

Yao Jinbo says both websites have begun transforming from classified ad sites to a more comprehensive service provider.

Last year 58.com launched a mobile application that directly matches consumers and service providers for local services categories, such as house cleaning and manicure at home.

"We recently launched a separate mobile application for 58.com Home services. The App does not just offer information, but a real person instead. You will see a nanny who comes to your home to provide services. "

According to a report on China's mobile websites released by China's online search giant Baidu, the top two increasingly searched topics in China are online education and community services.

Li Mingyuan, vice president with Baidu notes that localized services will be the battlefield for Internet companies.

"I think the Online to Offline services are a promising sector since they focus on people's daily needs and can help people save time. The working population in major Chinese cities are probably the busiest people in the world today. So services that can be readily accessed at home have a big chance to develop."
