Russian Maria Sharapova defeated Samantha Stosur 6-3, 6-4 to make it through to the fourth round in women's singles.
"Yeah, I was just really happy to win this one. You know, I knew it was going to be a tough one going into the match. And, you know, considering the start of the week was really tough and I knew I had a tough opponent, I just wanted to be as ready as I could. I was really happy to win it. "
Veteran Flavia Pennetta eased past eighth seed Carla Suarez Navarro 6-3, 6-2.
Next up for Pennatta is 21st seed Garbine Muguruza.
On the men's side, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga won in straight sets, beating the unseeded Pablo Andujar 7-6, 6-4, 6-3.
The fourteenth seeded earned a quarter-final match up against fourth seed Tomas Berdych.
Second-seed Roger Federer reached the last 16 for the 11th straight year with a straightforward 6-4, 6-3, 6-2 win over Damir Dzumhur.
He will next face 13th seed Gael Monfils in the fourth round.
