Reporter: Arthur Wong, a nine-time Hong Kong Film Awards-winning cinematographer, has recently promoted his directorial debut film in Beijing.

At the promotional event, he played a love-themed MV.

Yu Haoming, a singer who became widely known for performing at the singing competition, Super Boy, sings the theme song in this music video.

"I did watch the movie before I would sing the song for it. I understand that a theme that the film tries to convey is all the love and hatred can be forgotten as time goes by. Thus, the lyric is about moths flying to a flame. Another thing that impresses me a lot is the well-arranged suspense part of the film."

"Ulterior Motive" stars Chinese actress Qin Lan, veteran Hong Kong-based actor Simon Yam and Chinese-American actor Archie Kao.

While promoting his new film, Archie Kao also believes this theme song will provide an emotional understanding to Ulterior Motive.

"I feel like the mood is perfect for the song, because metaphorically it kind of represents two extremes of love, and what you'll do for love. And I think it's all asking what the lyrics for, because I think it perfectly encapsulates the theme of our story."

The film uses interlocking suspense in its story telling narritive. The true motive of the crime will be revealed step by step, leaving viewers to ponder over the interwoven feelings of love and hatred. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on September 17th.
