Mojin: The Lost Legend due for Release on December 18th
An adventure, fantasy film Mojin The Lost Legend, with a cast composed of A-list stars including Angelababy, Chen Kun, Shu Qi and Huang Bo, is due for release on December 18th in China.
Set in the 1980s, the movie is based on Zhang Muye's novel "Ghost Blows out the Light" or Gui Chui Deng in Chinese. Earlier, another movie The Nine-Story Demon Tower or Jiu-Ceng-Yao-Ta, directed by Lu Chuan is also based on another series of the novel.
In Mojin The Lost Legend, or Xun Long Jue, the costumes and make-up of the guardians of the ancient mythical sites look like skeletons and they wear masks. And the styling is very exotic.
Director Wuershan says inspiration for the designs for the ancient mythical sites' guardians come from his own religious beliefs. Such beliefs are related to the ethnic group who reside in grassland where the film is set.
The movie tells the story of a former soldier named Hu Bayi and his partner who team up with an American archaeologist after they fall victim to a curse while robbing graves.
In order to break the curse, they search for clues hidden among ancient mythical sites in China.
