CRI听力:Biggest Names Play on "Super Wednesday" at Shanghai Masters

2015-10-15来源:CRI

Super Wednesday started off with an eventful match on Center Court between Japan's Kei Nishikori and Australia's Nick Kyrgios. Kyrgios started strong taking the first set but Nishikori regained control, downing the Aussie 1-6,6-4,6-4.

Kyrgios didn't go down without controversy though, being handed a code violation for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Kei Nishikori says his first match was a good start to the tournament.

"My serve wasn't good especially in the beginning. I had three double faults in the first game. The serve was one of the reasons I wasn't doing well so I tried to be a little more aggressive and he was hitting big serves but I was returning well at the same time so I think it was a good match for the first match."

In other action, Britain's Andy Murray beat American Steve Johnson in straight sets 6-2, 6-4 to progress to the next round.

Serbia's Novak Djokovic took on Slovakia's Martin Klizan defeating him 6-2, 6-1.

The current world number one said he played exactly the way he wanted.

"The first four games went quickly and then I had a little bit of a drop in concentration for two or three games but managed to hold my serve and play the rest of the match the way I wanted."

His Serbian compatriot Viktor Troicki was beaten by Switzerland's Stan Wawrinka 7-6, 6-3.

And it was a close match between Spain's Rafael Nadal and Croatia's Ivo Karlovic. Nadal won 7-5, 6-7, 7-6.
