The Ferry Man II Goes on Line on Friday

The iQiyi supernatural-themed internet drama series The Ferry Man will give its fans quite a new scare in its second season which is scheduled to go online starting from Friday evening.

This is the latest attempt by one of China's largest video-streaming companies, iQiyi, in feeding China's growing appetite for online video content.

In the second season of The Ferry Man, or Ling Hun Bai Du in Chinese(灵魂摆渡), young actor Liu Zhiyang (刘智扬) still acts Xia Dongqing (夏冬青), who is a shop assistant that owns the "Yin Yang Eyes" which enable him to see Ghosts.

Liu unveils that in the new season, there are numerous occasions where different ghosts try to possess him.

"As soon as ghosts enter my body, I immediately transform into another character, and the quick shift in roles is a very funny acting experience for me. Life is full of hardships and pressure. My role provides me, as well as the viewers that we can step out of our normal role and try something different. As an actor, it's such a big excitement that I could portray various roles from different new angles."

Since the launch of the first season in February of last year, it has gained a cult following with its quirky lines and crazy characters.

The supernatural series also employs China's famous screenwriter and director Guo Jingyu as artistic director. But whether the highly anticipated second season continues to impress, thriller fans may find out themselves.
