2015-11-06来源:CRI

The festival opened with the screening of one of latest Chinese blockbusters "Monkey King - Hero is back."

Goran Adenskog was among over 100 audience members.

He says he was impressed with the Chinese cultural references in the movie.

"It was very impressive, you know the mix between Chinese Bhuddism, which is in the Chinese DNA I think, and the new modern approach to making a film, the animation was fantastic, I think. I learnt a new story. Young people will like it because they like dynamic and tempo."

Tong Gang with China's Administration of Press, Radio, Film and Television says the festival is expected to help boost cultural exchange between the two countries and is also aimed at paying tribute to the anniversary of China-Sweden ties.

"The Chinese Film Festival is one of the important events to celebrate the 65th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Sweden. The three films represent the quality and standard of China's film making industry."

Another hit Chinese film to be screened is 'To the Fore', which revolves around cyclists in China.

Anna Serner, CEO of the Swedish Film Institute says she's really pleased to attend a festival featuring Chinese film works in her institute.

"Although Swedish films reflect Swedish society and Swedish culture, the stories, feelings and experiences of being human are universial. And just as you can be inspired by us, we can be inspired by you. We look forward to seeing many more Chinese films from all voices from your great country. "

Tian Xiaopeng, director of 'Monkey King-Hero is Back', was also present at the opening ceremony.

The film festival concludes this coming Sunday.

For CRI, this is Chen Xuefei reporting from Stockholm.
