CRI听力:China's Deng Wei Clinches Three Golds at the World Weightlifting Championships
Chinese lifters have taken four golds at the World Weightlifting Championships in Houston, Texas, with three of them going to Deng Wei.
The 22-year-old opened the women's 63kg final with a snatch lift of 113 kilos, then followed with a world record clean and jerk lift of 146 kilos for a winning total of 259.
"I'm very happy to win this title. Because I didn't have a lot of training before this competition. I was also not that confident, as I haven't completely recovered from some injuries is suffered several weeks before. But I gave it my all, and ended up breaking the world record. This is far beyond my expectations."
Deng Wei broke the previous clean and jerk mark of 145-kilos set by a lifter from Taiwan last year.
