CRI听力:"Two Sessions" to Offer Huge Opportunities for Global Development
This year's annual "Lianghui," or "Two Sessions" is set to get underway tomorrow, with the official start of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, the country's top political advisory body.
It's widely expected China's economic development will dominate the discussions.
Among the tasks for both the CPPCC and the National People's Congress, the country's top lawmakers, will be the new Five-Year Plan.
The document maps out China's economic restructuring plans until 2020.
A shift from an investment and manufacturing strategy toward a consumer-driven model is to be laid out in the document.
For more on the economic issues to be discussed, CRI's Spencer Musick earlier spoke earlier with John Ross, senior fellow with the Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies at Renmin University.
