Harry Kane scored both goals as Tottenham won 2-0 at Aston Villa to move to within two points of leaders Leicester City.
Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino offered these thoughts on the title race.
"I think that mathematically it is still possible for a lot of teams. I think we are in a good position but there are a lot of games to play to try to win games in every match then we see what happens. But I think it is too early to put some teams out of the race."
Villa remain 8 points adrift at the bottom having played two games more than nearest rivals Newcastle United.
