CRI听力:Giant Pandas' Mating Process Broadcast Live
The mating process between two giant pandas was broadcast live on iPanda for nature enthusiasts on Sunday.
IPanda is a program created by China Network Television and China Conservation and Research Center for Giant Pandas.
The two giant pandas are from Bifengxia Giant Panda breeding center in southwest China's Sichuan Province. A 9-and-half-year-old female named “CuiCui” and a 16-year-old male "WuGang" were filmed mating for the first time.
Hundreds and thousands of viewers watched the live broadcast on iPanda. It marked a monumental moment for the breeding center as for many viewers it was the first time seeing the giant panda's mating ritual. Viewers were able to witness how hard it was for staff members to get the pandas to mate.
