CRI听力:LeEco's Starry Carnival Wows the Crowds

One of the largest online video companies in China, LeEco, has recently held an evening carnival in Beijing, attracting an extravaganza of heavyweights in the country's entertainment world.

Veteran director Zhang Yang is one of them.
Zhang Yang is the director of "Paths of the Soul" or "Gang Ren Bo Qi" in Chinese (冈仁波齐).

And the film, which focuses on the story of a Tibetan man, has been selected to open this year's screening of domestic films in the Beijing International Film Festival. The Festival will last from this Saturday till April 23rd.

In discussing the potential of this year's film market, Zhang Yang has expressed confidence.

"The year 2015 saw the robust productions of good Chinese films that have won success in box office earnings. But I believe this year would be even better in the Chinese film market."

Meanwhile, the carnival also offers a chance for the reunion of some cast members from the hit TV drama, 'Legend of Miyue'.

Actress Ma Su, who acts Wei Yan or Madam Wei, the main enemy of the heroine Miyue, also makes an appearance.

"My new film Perfect Lady or 'er-shi-ba-sui-wei-cheng-nian' in Chinese (28岁未成年) will soon meet audience members."

She's joined by actor Gao Yunxiang, who began grabbing increasing public attention for his role as the King of Yiqu, Zhai Li, one of Miyue's lovers.

However Gao Yunxiang gives short answers when being asked if he has a plan to cooperate again with director and producer Zheng Xiaolong.

"Further cooperation is under discussion."

Zheng Xiaolong, best known for the Legend of Concubine Zhen Huan and The Legend of Miyue also joined LeEco's carnival. Also at the carnival is the child star of Liu Chutian, who is famed for portraying Miyue during her childhood. The carnival runs throughout Wednesday night.
