CRI听力:Quebec to Focus on Entertainment and High-Tech to This Year's CIFTIS
On the eve of the fourth China Beijing International Fair for Trade in Services, or CIFTIS, it's been revealed that Quebec in Canada is to strengthen entertainment and high-tech cooperation with their Chinese counterparts.
This year's CIFTIS will be held in Beijing from May 28 to June 1. Businesses from over 120 countries and regions have registered for the fair, making this year's event the largest ever with nearly 23,000 attendees.
The Canadian French-speaking province has a reputation for creativity and innovation, offering numerous business opportunities and potential partnerships with China, particularly in the areas of entertainment and high-tech sectors that include film, multimedia, environmental protection and high-end manufacturing.
China is Québec's largest trading partner in Asia and the second in the world just behind the United States.
For more on this, CRI reporter Luo Yu talked to Jean-Fran?ois Lépine, Quebec's representative in China. Mr Lepine had a 40-year career with Radio-Canada, and was a correspondent to China back in 1983.
