CRI听力:China expects G20 Summit to be fruitful: spokesperson

2016-08-25来源:CRI

This year's G20 Summit in Hangzhou will see the leaders of the world's most powerful economies come together with a record number of foreign delegations to the annual sessions.

Five countries, including Chad, Senegal, Egypt, Laos and Kazakhstan are sending delegations to Hangzhou.

Chad, Senegal and Laos also represent different international groupings from both Africa and Asia.

Lu Kang with the Chinese Foreign Ministry says next month's sessions will provide a platform for their voices to be heard around the world.

"With the summit fast approaching, we've noticed a growing expectation from the international community about the Hangzhou Summit. Many of the countries being represented have already expressed willingness to work with China to ensure the success of the summit and inject a newer, stronger driving force into world economic growth," said Lu.

At the same time, Lu Kang says as the largest developing nation in the world, China realizes that it has an obligation to champion the agenda of the developing world in Hangzhou.

"The G20 Hangzhou Summit has invited the largest number ever of developing countries. Developed and developing countries will be able to sit together as equal partners to plan for the long-term sound development of the world economy, thus achieving greater representation and inclusiveness of the summit, and enabling the voices of developing countries to be fully heard at the G20 Hangzhou Summit," said Lu.

Chinese officials say they expect around 30 deliverable outcomes to emerge from the sessions in Hangzhou.

Authorities say the city itself is fully-prepared to handle the delegations, with preparations getting underway months ago.

The two-day summit will take place on September 4th and 5th.
