CRI听力:Merck opens new factory in Nantong
Merck, a leading science and technology company, has officially opened its 170 million Euro pharmaceutical plant in eastern China.
The Nantong pharmaceutical plant is dedicated to producing high-quality pharmaceuticals on China's Essential Drug List.
The German company has also announced a further investment of around 80 million Euros in a Life Science Center near the plant to manufacture high-purity inorganic salts and other products.
Marc Horn, General Manager of Merck Biopharma China, says the plant will be Merck's biggest production center outside Europe and will be dedicated to meet the increasing demand for medicines in China.
