CRI听力:China to extend transition period for cross-border e-commerce
The Chinese government has announced a decision to extend the transition period for its supervision of cross-border e-commerce retail imports to the end of 2017 to encourage consumption.
The plan includes simplified procedures, reduced checks, and fewer import permits. The one-year transition period began in May and has been trialed in ten cities, including Tianjin, Shanghai, and Hangzhou.
Over the last six months, it has played an important role in promoting cross-border e-commerce retail imports, and has encouraged enterprises to be more organized.
Cross-border e-commerce in China is expected to hit nearly 90 billion this year, up from around 60 billion last year.
