CRI听力:Discussion on corporate news of the week
Story 1:
China's leading budget hotel chain group - Home Inns - says it will launch a new brand with hotel rooms composed of containers, tents, touring cars and log cabins.
The first complex will be built in suburban Shanghai, and the company is currently in the process of site selection.
The cost of building a container hotel is said to be only 150-thousand dollars, and it can be done in 45 days.
The hotel group says it initially planned to build mobile hotels to satisfy the different demand levels in busy and slack seasons, and it later found that mobile hotels can become complexes with more functions, and can even become tourism destinations.
Story 2:
Ctrip.com, the largest online travel company in China, has announced an agreement to buy travel search company Skyscanner in a deal that values the Scotland-based company at over 1.7 billion U.S. dollars.
Skyscanner's current management team would continue to run the company independently after the deal.
Founded in 2001, Skyscanner is a leading travel metasearch company that enables users to compare prices from different travel sites when searching for flights, hotels, and rental cars.
It currently serves 60 million monthly active users and does most of its business in Europe.
