A Chinese-to-English novel translation website, Wuxiaworld.com, is enjoying unexpected popularity in the United States.

The website, founded in 2014, is the largest platform for English versions of Chinese martial arts stories and fantasy online novels.

Wuxiaworld is now receiving some 4 million page views per day.

It has also been recognized as a brand name in Chinese-to-English novel translation excellence.

The founder of the website, Lai Jingping, better known by his online username RWX, is a former American diplomat in China. And by the way -- RWX stands for Ren Woxing, meaning "going my own way" 钬?name of a Kongfu master in a martial art novel 钬?a good guy in disguise.

Lai studied Intentional Relationships at the University of California, Berkeley, where he started translating popular Wuxia novel series.

For more on the success of Chinese fantasy fictions, CRI's Zhao Ying earlier spoke with Lai Jingping, the founder of the Wuxiaworld.com.

Lai believes the website has taken a different path in spreading Chinese culture across the globe.

钬泪n the Chinese mindset, there钬檚 an overly strong emphasis on Chinese culture and history which is so profound and so deep, but what is most profound and deepest in the culture is not necessarily the best thing to show others. There钬檚 been sort of a lack of translated Chinese popular fiction in the past, and that has been a major hamper on getting Chinese popular culture exposed to the western market.钬?/p>
