CRI听力:Kenya and Tanzania step up port rivalry
Kenya and Tanzania are presently caught in a head-to-head race to become the most preferred transport hub amid massive expansion projects in sea ports, connecting railway and road networks.
The Kenyan port of Mombasa and Tanzania's Dar es Salaam port are the traditional competitors but now the Kenyan government is planning a huge new port at Lamu, while Tanzania is developing Bagamoyo.
Both ports will be larger than any other port in sub-Saharan Africa if completed as planned. They will also be at the centre of much bigger developments, with industrial zones being laid out and intensive farming being proposed.
For more on this, CRI's Zhao Ying spoke with Liam Lee, international affairs commentator.
