Five years ago, nowhere could you find in the Chinese market any beef that's from Uruguay in South America. But today, half of the country's beef is being exported to China.
With the steady unfolding of China's Belt and Road Initiative, Uruguay is looking at opportunities to gain more access to the growing Chinese market for its agricultural products as well as investment from China in its ports and railway system.
