CRI听力:BRICS Business Forum delegates highly praise president Xi's keynote speech

Chinese President Xi Jinping's speech at the ongoing BRICS Business Forum has been praised by the delegates, boosting their confidence to invest in China. 

President Xi has delivered a keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the BRICS Business Forum scheduled for Sept. 3-4. Xi says the BRICS has become a bright spot in the global economy in the past decade.

"In the past ten years, our combined GDP has grown by 179%, trade by 94% and urban population by 28%. All this has contributed significantly to stabilizing the global economy and returning it to growth, and it has delivered tangible benefits to three billion and more people."

President Xi also encourages Chinese companies to operate and take root in other countries, and welcome foreign companies to invest and operate in China.

Joao M. De Faria, president of China branch of Brazilian mining company Vale, the world's largest producer and exporter of iron, attends the opening ceremony of the forum. He says Xi's speech increases his company's confidence to further expand China market.

"Wonderful speech, it's about how China intends to grow for our own, our company set in China's market, so we are very confident on China's growth, not so high as before, but very steady and stable in growth, so we are very confident on China as usual."

Pat Mkhize, chairman of a South Africa steel engineering enterprises, say he wishes to start business in China market through the forum. Xi's speech makes him full of confidence to invest China.

"Great, great speech, we have got convince of the win-win relationship, not to dominate other one, benefit others, it's great speech!"

BRICS New Development Bank (NDB) president K.V. Kamath says Xi's speech encourages BRICS countries to enhance infrastructure cooperation.

"I compliment his outstanding speech. I think there are lot of new things we can do taking the message of president Xi here. Our area basically within the context of what he spoke is going to be development effort, infrastructure effort that brings nations together."

The leaders of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa will meet at the ninth BRICS summit in southeastern China's Xiamen city from Sept. 3 to 5.

An important side-event of the BRICS summit, the BRICS Business Forum serves as a platform for business leaders to discuss issues of common concern, build consensus and raise policy suggestions.
