CRI听力:JD.com to launch office-based automated food service concept
Chinese e-commerce giant JD.com is reportedly planning to launch an office-based automated food service concept targeting white-collar workers.
The service, provided by the company's delivery business JD Daojia, would involve dedicated office areas with high-tech vending machines, with snacks and beverages set to be served.
The move would mark one of the biggest changes in offline retailing to date for JD.com, as many e-commerce firms are taking interest in traditional brick-and-mortar concepts with high-tech touches, which might help complement their online services.
For more on the issue, the Beijing Hour's Shane Bigham spoke earlier with Doug Young, company news chief with the English edition of Caixin.
