CRI听力:Foreign experts: 19th CPC congress a new starting point for China
Mohammad Reza Barkhordari, a senior researcher with the Tehran International Studies and Research Institute, says after implementing the policy of reform and opening up for nearly 4 decades, China has found its own development path, which is a socialist path with Chinese characteristics.
Barkhordari says China can only realize its two centenary goals by sticking to this path:
"What attracts me the most is that President Xi Jinping says socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era. I think this statement is very important because China has found its own development path, and that is the socialist path with Chinese characteristics. Although this is a suitable path, Xi Jinping and other CPC leaders are well aware that they need to solve some problems and to adjust it to China's modernization drive."
Dr. B. R. Deepak, professor at Jawaharlal Nehru University in India, watched the live coverage of President Xi Jinping delivering a report the 19th CPC National Congress.
He has also read the Chinese and English editions of the report.
Deepak says Xi Jinping has set out a grand vision for China's future development, and that while in achieving the development goals, China will also be bringing benefits to the entire world:
"I believe in realizing those development goals, China will not only better itself, but also bring benefits to neighboring countries, regions and the whole world as well. We've known that China has already made tremendous contributions to the sound operation of the world economic system. With its further development, I think the contributions will become increasingly important."
Japanese economist Ehara Noriyoshi has echoed Deepak's sentiments.
Noriyoshi says China is an important engine of growth for the world economy.
He says with the rise of anti-globalization sentiments and protectionism, the Belt and Road Initiative proposed by China is in line with the trend of the times and has won the support of many countries.
"The Belt and Road Initiative is set to bring enormous changes to the world. The initiative is not just a simple proposal any more, as many countries in the world are eager to participate in it. We are seeing how it is being implemented and realized. Then comes the global governance. The coming five years will be decisive for China as it participates in global governance."
In his report, President Xi Jinping pledged strict governance of the Party and enhanced anti-corruption campaign.
Simon Khaya Moyo with the ruling Zimbabwe African National Union- Patriotic Front says his country is learning from China's experiences to achieve more effective governance.
"We admire the actions you have taken against corrupt individuals, be they leaders or anyone else. We are fighting corruption here and it's not easy to fight so we must learn from your experiences."
Moyo also says he hopes his party and the CPC can strengthen exchanges in the future, especially among the young members of the parties.
