CRI听力:Artists from Belt and Road countries come to China for printmaking exhibition
Over 50 printmaking artists from the countries along the Belt and Road have recently gathered in Shenzhen for an exhibition.
These artists were given time to create two prints for the exhibition.
Kang Jianfei is the curator.
"These artists have lived and worked together. This exhibition also gave artists a platform to exchange their ideas as to why they'd made prints in their unique way. They discover that the source of their inspiration is largely related to their respective nationality, ethnicity and culture. Through this project, these artists have become good friends. Even further, the 25 involved international artists now all have a Chinese wechat account."
The printmaking art has been around in China since the Han and Jin dynasties 1700 years ago.
The exhibition showcasing the works of artists from China, Bulgaria, Poland, Cambodia, Russia, Iraq, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Greece and others is now being held at the Today Art Museum in Beijing.
It will run until March 8th.
