CRI听力:Comedic actor Bao Bei'er's directorial debut to hit theatres
Chinese comedic actor Bao Bei'er's directorial debut 'Fat Buddies' is due out on September 30th during the National Day holiday period.
Bao also stars with Johnny Wen in the film.
"The film has action scenes with comedic elements. Both Wen and I are fatties in real life. Fat people are often soft, warm-hearted. On the other hand, they also feel inferior. I want to shoot a movie about how fatties discard their sense of inferiority and gain self-confidence."
The story follows a special agent who gains weight during missions, and teams up with an equally overweight security guard to take down a drug cartel.
The film has an international cast including South Korean-American actress Clara Lee and Japanese action legend Yasuaki Kurata.
Bao's credits as an actor include blockbusters such as Lost In Thailand and Journey To The West: The Demons Strike Back.
