The Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilizations will open this morning in Beijing, focusing on cultural diversity, exchanges and mutual learning.
It is expected to gather more than 2,000 government officials and representatives from 47 Asian countries and other countries outside the region.
Maleeha Lodhi is the permanent representative of Pakistan to the United Nations.
She says the Conference is an extraordinary opportunity to bring countries together in a constructive manner to promote understandings.
CRI's overseas correspondent Qian Shanming catches up with Ambassador Maleeha Lodhi at UN headquarters in New York.
