将世博园的各国珍品带回家

世博会除了各种展览、互动吸引人外，各国推出的特色商品也是一个大诱惑。游在世博，购物也在世博。不用一个国家一个国家地“跑”，在世博园内，就能买到各国最具代表性的商品了：芬兰的诺基亚、澳大利亚的袋鼠皮、突尼斯的手工艺品……

Entering the African Union Pavilion, the most crowded area is the indoor market.

All the booths are lined with distinct African characteristics, such as vivid animal statues, stone decorations and colorful knitting, as well as various handicrafts and well-known agricultural products.

What attracts most of the female visitors is of course the glittering jewelry.

Liang Chun is a tourist from Shandong province.

"I got some necklaces made of stones in the Malawi desert. These are from Africa and are rare in China. My family likes Africa because we think it is a land of mystery. So I will keep these necklaces as souvenirs."

Besides these distinctive souvenirs, luxurious and exclusive commodities are also favorable items for visitors.

Everything from limited edition Nokia phones fresh out of Finland, to special "French Pavilion" perfume, and even to the kangaroo leather and cashmere products found in the Australian national shop, all these items, although marked at a higher price than ordinary souvenirs, attract numerous tourists standing in line to purchase.

You don't have to run from country to country at the Shanghai World Expo, you can buy the most representative items from just about every country here.

And perhaps the most expensive item inside the Expo Garden is the carpet from the Iran Pavilion.

As an essential part of Persian art and culture, the handmade carpets are internationally famous for their exquisite craft and artistic beauty, and also for their high prices.

Peter Lv, an officer inside the Iran Pavilion, is showing the visitors a carpet worth 7 million yuan beset with pearls and gold.

"This is made by a famous Iranian family. It takes 2 workers ten years to weave this tag. It is made of silk and wool, and also jewelry. From the pattern, you can see it is a typical pearl Iranian tag. The color is quite different from the Chinese ones. The color was dyed with plant dye; it is not a chemical dye."

If 7 million yuan is too much for you, you can choose cheaper ones as an alternative, which all boast high quality and artistic value.

Mrs. Geng is just about to buy a carpet with a horse image, the symbolic animal for the year she born.

"I think the craft and color are all very good. I haven't seen such good carpet in China, so I want to buy one if the price is good."

After shopping in the pavilions, you can also take a rest in restaurants boasting distinctive flavors, and Porter House is a good choice.

Stepping inside this typical Irish bar, what you will see first are rows of colorful beer bottles.

Frank Ennis, director of the Porter House brewery, the largest Irish brewery in Dublin, says all the beer they sell is produced and bottled by them.

After a day of walking around the Expo Garden, when dusk approaches, sitting inside this lovely bar and having a bottle of cold authentic Irish beer will definitely be a fresh end to your recent world tour.
