摔跤被摔出2020年奥运会
The International Olympic Committee has recommended that wrestling be removed from the programme at the Games from 2020 onwards. Wrestling was contested at the very first modern games in 1896, but it's no longer one of the core sports for the Summer Olympics in seven years time. It means that the wrestling will now have to appeal and justify its place, joining seven other candidate sports, all competing now for one spot. The IOC session in Buenos Aires in September will ratify the final decision. American 2004 Olympic champion Cael Sanderson is now a top-level coach. He told the BBC's Steve Crossman that he would never have become involved with the sport had it not been in the Olympic programme, and removing it from the Games will be a big mistake.
"When you think of the Olympics, you think of track and field, and wrestling and boxing, and swimming, you know, the original sports, and you know to go in another direction from the original sports, I think that's a big mistake."
