Hello, from thecnn Center here in Atlanta , I'm Melissa Long. It's Thursday, November 20th. Here are some of the headlines making news this hour.
After seven years of imprisonment, five Algerian terrorism suspects will be released without charge fromGuantanamo Bay prison. A Federal Court judge ordered the suspects to be released after the prosecution failed to show they were enemy combatants. The judge found that the government provided sufficient evidence against a sixth Algerian suspect, however.
The UN Security Council has voted to send additional 3000 soldiers to the Democratic Republic of Congo. They are gonna join the 17, 000 peacekeepers already there, the largest such UN force anywhere. A pullback by rebel forces is also said to be allowing more aid in.
Russia 's sending more ships to the Horn of Africa to crack down on the recent wave of hijackings. It says armed warships will join a NATO-led international fleet. 90 ships, 90 ships have been attacked off Eastern Africa so far this year. The pirates operating from Somalia still hold 17 vessels including a massive Saudi-owned supertanker, full of crude, the largest ship captured to date.
