Hello I'm Melissa Long here at the cnn center in Atlanta with a look at some of the stories that are happening NOW IN THE NEWS on this Tuesday.

President Obama focusing on the North Korean nuclear threat this morning, the president is hosting a meeting with the South Korean President Lee Myung-bak. North Korea has raised alarms around the world with its recent nuclear and missile tests.

Iran has banned cnn in fact all foreign journalists from covering election rallies. Government-run television not affected by those restrictions is airing demonstrations in central Teheran, the favor President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Iran's Guardian Council made up of clerics and judges agree today to recount some votes but opposition leader Mir Hossein Mousavi wants a new election instead.

Two states are reporting their first deaths linked to swine flu in New Jersey, a 49-year-old man died Saturday two weeks after he first got sick. Health officials say he has several underlying conditions, a woman in her 30s was the first person to die with the H1N1 virus, this was in Massachusetts. She had been hospitalized for less than a week.

The search is underway for a missing cruise ship passenger. According to the coast guard, the ship was heading from Alabama to Mexico when a crew member reported hearing a loud splash. Search boats were put in the water, passengers were told to return to their cabins for a headcount. (www.hXen.com)

Some encouraging news from the housing market, new home constructions surged more than 17 percent in May after hitting a record low in April. Year after year however, housing started down 45 percent. Meantime, building permits, signs of future activity rose a better-than-expected four percent.
