Fox News:俄亥俄囚犯入侵监狱网络
An email alert from IT staff at the Marion Correctional Institution was the tip-off that an employee who was not on schedule, was trying to access the internet.
That’s what led officials to discover a network cable that ran into the ceiling and two computers hidden up there. Ohio Inspector General Randall J. Meyer says the computers were meant to be recycled in a computer waste program and shouldn’t have left there:
(Meyer) “Not a single corrections staff stopped them from transporting these computers into the administrative portion of the building. It’s almost as if it’s an episode of ‘Hogan’s Heroes.'”
One prisoner tried to use the computers to steal the identity of another inmate, submit credit card applications and commit tax fraud.
In total, five were found guilty of using the computers and have been moved to other prisons.
