[00:-5.00]Yes,and he's going to Southern University to study psychology.
[00:-6.00]Oh,how exciting!That sounds very interesting!
[00:-7.00]He wanted to go to Harvard University,but his SAT scores were too low.
[00:-8.00]That's really too bad!How very disappointing!
[00:-9.00]Yes,it was disappointing.
[00:10.00]But now he's excited about studying psychology at Southern.
[00:11.00]Now repeat these phrases.

[00:13.00]That sounds interesting!  That sounds very interesting!

[00:15.00]That's too bad.  That's really too bad!

[00:18.00]Now you use one of these two expressions:either That sounds interesting!
[00:19.00]or That's too bad!after each of the following sentences.

[00:30.00]Now listen to the following pairs of sentences.
[00:31.00]My boss wants to take a course in computers.
[00:32.00]My boss wants me to take a course in computers.
[00:33.00]Maria wants to be director of the show.
[00:34.00]Maria wants Mike to be director of the show.
[00:35.00]Notice how the meaning of the sentence changes
[00:36.00]when you put a direct object like me or Mike between a berb and its infinitive.
[00:37.00]Here's another example.
[00:38.00]Steven wants to be back before the baby arrives.
[00:39.00]Steven wants Maria to be back before the baby arrives.
[00:40.00]Now I want you to do this exercise.
[00:41.00]You will hear a sentence and then an object.
[00:42.00]Repeat the sentence,putting the infinitive.
[00:43.00]For example,I say,"My boss wants to take a course in compouters.Me."
[00:44.00]And you say...
[00:45.00]My boss wants me to take a course in computers.
[00:46.00]Or I say..."Steven wants to be director of the show.Mike."
[00:47.00]And you say...
[00:48.00]Steven wants Mike to be director of the show.
