make a fool of oneself：
to do something which makes you seem stupid；to make someone look foolish.

愚弄某人；出洋相；出丑

Example:
1. If you pretend to know what you don't know, you'll only make a fool of yourself.

2. He's always getting drunk and making a fool of himself at parties.
