Father's Day (1'27")
Mrs. Reed said to Susan, her daughter, “Don't forget, Susan, tomorrow's Father's Day.”
“Oh, my goodness,” said Susan. “I don't have a gift. What should I get him, Mother ?”
“I don't know,” said Mrs, Reed. “That's always a problem. Why don't you walk down to the shopping center and try to find
something ?”
Susan hurried to the shopping center and went into the men's store. She had $3.00. She thought, “I think I should get him
something to wear,” then she thought, “No, I ought to buy something for him to use.”
“May I help you ?” said Mr. Long.
“Yes, please, I want a gift for my father, but I don't know what to get.”
“How about a nice shirt ?” asked Mr. Long.
“No, I only have $3.00,” said Susan.
Then she saw it. It was a beautiful red and white tie. She knew her father would like that. She wished she could get it, but
it looked very expensive. “That's prebably about $ 10.00,” she thought to herself.
“How much is this red and white tie ?” she asked.
Mr. Long looked at her, and then looked at the tie. He took off the price tag and said, “That's exactly $ 3.00.” “Oh,
fine,” said Susan, “I'll take it.”'
