[05:31.19]Police in Iraq say a British helicopter has crashed in the southern city of Basra,
[05:38.29]apparently after being hit by a rocket or missile.
[05:42.47]Officials say the helicopter went down in a residential area today,
[05:47.61]and the bodies of the four crew members were found in the wreckage.
[05:51.65]Iraqi police say four people were killed in a clash
[05:56.16]between British troops and a crowd of Iraqis at the crash site.
[06:00.64]The Iraqis cheered the crash,
[06:03.14]threw stones at the troops and set fire to British armored vehicles.

[06:32.29]Leaders of the Palestinian militant group Hamas
[06:36.00]have met the Russian foreign minister in Moscow for talks
[06:39.52]described by Hamas as open and constructive.
[06:42.46]The meeting was the first of its kind between Hamas
[06:46.39]and any of the group of countries mediating in the Middle East peace process.
[06:50.43]The Russian Minister Sergey Lavrov warned Hamas that
[06:54.79]following its recent election victory,
[06:56.86]it must transform itself into a purely political institution.

[08:49.03]Diplomats from nearly 30 countries have condemned a major campaign
[08:54.06]against the media in Kenya for which the Kenyan government has admitted responsibility.
