BEIJING, May 22 (Xinhuanet) -- Britney Spears's father has given up his full-time job so as to focus on his role as co-conservator of his troubled daughter's business affairs, according to media reports Thursday.

Jamie Spears and attorney Andrew Wallet were granted temporary control of the singer's affairs in February after she was sectioned following a custody dispute at her home.

Court papers revealed that the caterer quit his job to help his daughter pull her life back.

The pop star's father will be awarded 2,500 U.S. dollars per week for the role from Britney's estate.

A request for a 10,000 dollars to cover back pay for the first month of his conservatorship was also granted, reports People.com.

The court documents also give the reason why he needs to quit his job.

"As a result of the responsibilities Mr. Spears has assumed as Temporary Conservator of the Person and Temporary Co-Conservator of the Estate, he has been unable to continue his prior employment and thus no longer has the source of income he previously had in order to pay his expenses and bills."

It seems Jamie' work is paying off as his 26-year-old was recently granted more time with her two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James.

She has also made two guest appearances in the U.S. television series "How I Met Your Mother" which received positive reviews and drew record viewers.
