娱乐英语新闻:Kids' Choice Awards presented in Los Angeles
Hosted by actor and former professional wrestler Dwayne Johnson, the annual ceremony held at the indoor arena on UCLA campus honored young people's favorite television, movies, music and sports stars.
Young Americans selected winners of the awards by casting a record 90 million votes in 18 categories between March 2 to 28, according to Nickelodeon cable television channel, which started the awards in 1988.
Will Smith was again chosen Favorite Movie Actor and Vanessa Hudgens from the "High School Musical" franchise won for Favorite Movie Actress, while "High School Musical 3" was chosen Favorite Movie and "Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa" Favorite Animated Movie.
In the music categories, Miley Cyrus won for Favorite Female Singer, Jesse McCartney for Favorite Male Singer and the Jonas Brother for Favorite Music Group. Favorite Song went to Beyonce for "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)."
NFL Football player Peyton Manning scored for Favorite Male Athlete and WNBA basketball player Candace Parker for Favorite Female Athlete, while author Stephenie Meyer's "Twilight" vampire novel series won for Favorite Book, and Guitar Hero World Tour won for Favorite Videogame.
Meanwhile, actor Leonardo DiCaprio accepted the first-ever Nickelodeon Big Green Help Award for his environmental efforts
