The movie - which also stars Samuel L. Jackson, Mike Myers and Diane Kruger - follows a group of Jewish-American commandos who are fighting Nazis in France. Though the film isn’t set to open in theaters until Aug. 21st, Tarantino has assured the Cannes organizers that he'll be ready to show the film at the festival, which runs from May 13-24th.
Tarantino - who won the festival's top prize, the Palme d'Or, in 1994 for "Pulp Fiction" - has been working on the film for nearly 10 years. He has also allowed it to be entered in the awards section of the event.
In past years, Pitt has appeared in Cannes selections like "Troy" and "Ocean's Thirteen."
